I’ve been coming to the Flying horse Pub in Wye for years and have always loved it. When my first puppy was young and difficult to train, I came in specifically to see how dog-friendly it would be. The staff were amazing — tolerant, kind, offered treats, and genuinely supportive while we trained him. He’s now excellent in restaurants, and that experience is something I’ve always remembered. The food has consistently been beyond belief, and the service over the years has been brilliant. I’ve recommended this pub to countless people and have returned many times because of how positive my experiences have always been. However, today was the first disappointing visit I’ve had in years. We were there with a new 14-week-old puppy. There was barking from other dogs, which triggered a small amount of noise from ours, but we were actively training, calming and managing the situation — and it was very brief. Unfortunately, a new manager I’ve never encountered before (Jess) spoke to us in a way that was completely unacceptable. The manner was abrupt, dismissive and frankly diabolical. It was the worst service I’ve ever experienced here, and completely out of keeping with the welcoming, dog-friendly ethos I’ve known this pub for. I would still highly recommend the Flying Pub in Wye for its food, atmosphere and long-standing staff — but based on today, I would not recommend the service provided by Jess.

Me and my partner stayed here for one night after visiting Port Lympne Safari park. This is the sort of place we left wishing we had as our local where we lived. Friendly helpful staff, relaxed and warm atmosphere, delicious food and a lovely cosy room. The home away from home touches were an appreciated element from a hot water bottle to playing cards to toiletries. The staff recommendations were very helpful and we had a beautiful dinner and a lovely breakfast. I wish more places existed like this but it gives us a reason to come back. Thank you for a lovely stay

Had a really lovely stay at the New Flying Horse last night! Wye is a beautiful village with some stunning nature reserves that I simply had to visit before heading back down to the inn! I had a gorgeous steak burger with salad and chips to start off my stay! For the first time ever staying somewhere overnight, the staff offered me milk of my choice before I even stepped into my room! This is a huge first for me! The fact that the staff had Soya Milk made all the difference to my visit! Had a tasty Full Wye Breakfast before leaving, which was top notch! Staff are really polite and friendly, the pub and my room were in exceptional condition, and overall I had an extremely pleasant stay! If anyone wants to stay overnight in Wye, The New Flying Horse comes highly recommended!

I have been in several times as a customer for both food and drink in the last couple months and I want to publicly praise Evie, Eleanor and Laila for providing an outstanding service when I have been in and for always being friendly, polite and professional. They are valuable assets to your business. Absolutely 5 STARS for the service I have received from them on each occasion as I always see them when I am in. The things that differentiate this pub from others are the quirky art and decorative pieces that are dotted about, the classy amuse bouches that are provided before any sit down meal, and the inclusion of dogs is brilliant too meaning I can feel free to bring my dogs with me if I choose to on my visits. These are a few things that really shine a light on this pub over others and keep the customers talking about it and wanting to return, including myself! I’ve had a lot to do with the local community in Wye and I am delighted to leave a review for the Fly as a satisfied member of the public ;)

I came to the new flying horse in December for sunday roast, we haven't been to wye before but as we are motorhome owners we like to travel around to find suitable places to stay, it had a very welcoming atmosphere a proper county pub with lots of local beer on tap, the open fire was delightful the staff were very attentive even though it was very busy, and we asked the manager about potentially staying at the pub with our campervan she very helpful and we will be looking to book in the future, as for the food, what can I say it was amazing, so much food, perfect service just the right amount of attention and the price was good for the food and service we received I would definitely recommend this pub if you want full belly's and lovley company I cannot wait to go back, I hope all the staff had a wonderful Christmas and new year we will see you soon

What can I say, from Steve who appears to have everything under control to Evie who served us and didn’t put a foot wrong, very attentive and made us feel so welcome, this is how a country pub should be, location is spot on, food is excellent and lots of choice of drinks, everyone was very helpful, we met the neighbours who were charming and you can tell this is a traditional country village. We didn’t stay this time but we plan on returning. All in all a great experience. Thank you.

Lovely Shepherd Neame country pub. Very good Sunday Roast which is reasonably priced. And to top it all, there was Late Red on draught which is my favourite ale!!

My husband and I came in for a drink on Friday and got speaking to a young lady behind the bar called Evie. We found out her name because we wanted to leave a review. From what we saw her service was absolutely fantastic, very attentive and friendly to everyone. I thought she must be the manager by how she had everything under control, and if she isn’t, as a business owner myself I would definitely recommend promoting her from within! We were staying fairly locally to Wye having come down from Berkshire and are so glad we stopped by your gem of a pub, it made our weekend away, and so did Evie.
